Job Summary
Administer construction contracts for assigned transit elements including tunnels, stations, and trackwork by reviewing contractor operations for OSHA compliance and conducting field inspections to ensure adherence to plans and specifications. Monitor project schedules, budgets, and CPMs while calculating field quantities for payments and preparing daily diaries and as-built documentation. Proactively review contract documents to identify change orders, resolve contractor disputes, and mitigate project risks specific to the assigned element. Coordinate with transit operations and maintenance disciplines to sequence construction activities and minimize impact on active service.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Washington
- Out of state licenses may be considered on a case by case basis
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in Construction Management of Heavy Civil Engineering or transit/transportation projects
- Direct construction management experience with one or more of the following elements: Tunnels, Stations, Aerial Guideway, Structures, Grade Separations and Overcrossings, Trackwork and Systems, Busway Structures, or Operations and Maintenance Facilities (Rail and/or Bus)
- Experience as a Construction Manager on Public Works projects of at least $50M in value
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions
