Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct construction activities for structures, facilities, and systems in Queens, NY. Confers with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. Support project delivery strategies by scheduling logical steps, managing procurement, and overseeing safety and building permit processes. Coordinate QA/QC plans, participate in weekly meetings, and prepare progress reports. Review contractor applications for payment and change order requests, recommending approvals to the client. Develop cost reports and coordinate punch list preparation for project close-out. Supervise junior technical staff and make independent decisions on technical problems and methods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related field
- four -years relevant experience
- 8 years of construction supervisory experience will be accepted as an equivalent to a college degree
- 30-hour training in OSHA safety requirements
- ability to navigate Web-based construction management software
- experience with setting meetings, organizing agendas, and keeping minutes for projects records
- thorough understanding and utilization of Information Technology including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
- highly articulate
- clear and logical approach to problem solving
- strong decision-making abilities
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- full-time on-site construction supervision in Queens, NY
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in managing large scale building programs preferred
- Experience in managing sports, recreation, and/or hospitality projects preferred
