Job Summary
Maintain accurate dates in Capital Assets Project Tracking Reports and manage EHRM project contracts, including modifications, Independent Government Estimates, and funding documents. Review concepts, intermediates, and final drawings for completeness and accuracy, providing detailed technical and constructability reviews before printing. Advise contractors and architects on long-lead items, labor availability, and cost-reducing alternatives while participating in value engineering workshops. Verify designs comply with Government standards, notify the Construction Manager of unresolved conflicts, and submit comments on all project directive activities. Coordinate with the COR, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure safety compliance, quality assurance, and timely project closeout. This role supports an EHRM modernization project at the VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA, reporting to the Program Director.
Required Qualifications
- Federal construction management experience
- Construction administration
- Construction schedule monitoring and analysis
- Daily field inspections and construction observation reporting
- Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC)
- Testing and inspection coordination
- Deficiency identification, tracking, and resolution
- Submittal review and coordination
- Request for Information (RFI) management
- Change order review and construction contract administration
- Monitoring and review of project budgetary cost accounting
- Verification of contractor pay application review
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Completing as-built documentation and project closeout
- Safety compliance monitoring (OSHA)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Oversight of commissioning completion
- Coordination with the COR, contractors, architects/engineers, and project stakeholders
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Microsoft Project or P6 experience
