Job Summary
Construction Manager - OAR I role overseeing pre-construction through close-out for public/educational facilities in Los Angeles; responsible for coordinating with designers, contractors, and public agencies, managing budgets and schedules, reviewing subcontractors' submittals and change orders, ensuring compliance with District standards and DSA processes, and coordinating close-out and financial close-out. Requires strong experience in project management, coordination of complex projects over $10M, BIM/LEED/CHPS familiarity, and CCM or related credentials; office in Los Angeles with in-person responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Ten (10) years full time paid professional experience in Construction and/or a combination of Project and Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public/Educational Facility Construction
- Three (3) years of the ten (10) years should have full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values of more than $10M
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management OR CCM credential within one year of employment OR CCM credential may be substituted for the degree requirement
- Preferred Licenses and Certificates: Architect (California) or Professional Engineer license and/or CCM credential by CMCI
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Experience with LEED/CHPS
- Experience with DSA construction/design processes
- OSHA Safety Regulations (OSHA 30 minimum)
- Knowledge of design-build processes
- Knowledge of pre-construction to close-out activities
- Ability to administer Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the District
- Ability to coordinate with District delivery of fixtures, furniture and equipment
