Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct activities for the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. Assist with project delivery strategies by scheduling logical steps and managing time to meet deadlines. Coordinate project procurement, contractor selection, contract paperwork, and changes. Oversee QA/QC quality control plans, safety management plans, building permit processes, and code compliance. Direct weekly construction meetings, prepare progress reports, review contractor payment applications, create cost reports, and manage punch list preparation for project close-out. Requires a Bachelor's degree, seven years of experience, state license, OSHA training, and proficiency with Web-based construction management software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
- seven years of relevant experience
- building construction/state license
- 30-hour training in OSHA safety requirements
- CMAA/PMI
- highly articulate
- clear and analytical approach to problem-solving
- strong decision-making abilities
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- strong construction estimating skills
- strong knowledge of construction and procurement strategies
- proficiency with project scheduling software
- ability to navigate Web-based construction management software
