Job Summary
Interpret plans and contract documents to ensure on-site compliance and monitor ongoing construction activities. Report deviations from design documents to supervisors promptly and maintain thorough daily inspection reports with photographic documentation. Verify completed work meets contract standards, provide sketches and field notes for Record Drawings, and coordinate with project teams to resolve field issues. Review Requests for Information and submittals, manage pay requests, and ensure compliance with Field Directives, Contract Change Orders, OSHA safety requirements, and public contract codes. This three-to-four-year Canyon Tunnel project role is located in Knights Ferry near Oakdale, CA, with eligibility for daily per diem.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California driver's license
- Minimum of experience in construction inspection or construction site management
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and contract administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues tactfully and efficiently
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, schedules, and contract documents
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, environmental compliance, and quality assurance procedures
- Familiarity with public contract code requirements
- Familiarity with Materials testing and inspection procedures
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies and permitting procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree, technical certification, or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Certification in Construction Inspection, EIT, or PE
