Job Summary
Conduct structured on-boarding sessions with newly assigned Construction Managers and Inspectors to ensure consistent understanding of PMD III requirements. Assess current construction management workflows across multiple infrastructure sections to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improved consistency and project delivery. Lead recurring portfolio reviews covering schedule performance, budget status, and risk items while preparing summary reports and dashboards for Section and Division-level reviews. Develop recommendations for standardized procedures, guidance documents, and best practices to support continuous improvement of business processes. Serve as an independent resource providing objective observations on operational effectiveness and facilitating communication between project teams and management.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction management experience managing horizontal infrastructure projects
- Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Education background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to independently complete assignments
- Ability to develop and maintain logs
- Ability to interpret contract plans and specifications, including other agency permits
- Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings
- Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate project activities with the various project stakeholders
- Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges
- Knowledge of the Greenbook or Caltrans specifications
- Position is full-time in office but hybrid schedule may be acceptable
