Job Summary
Oversee all construction activities on single mega projects or through coordinating multiple projects, leading teams and ensuring safety protocols and quality delivery within timelines. Supervise tasks across sites by collaborating with superintendents, field engineers, and estimators to adhere to contract drawings. Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs, and schedules while forecasting production and mitigating issues. Review specifications, coordinate with crews and utilities for hazardous areas, and present work plans to align crews. Coordinate equipment and materials within budget, provide technical input to resolve risks, document daily activities, and promote strict adherence to safety and process controls. Supervise sub-contractors and oversee project close-out activities. Requires 17+ years in heavy civil construction and 12+ years in management.
Required Qualifications
- 17+ years of heavy civil construction experience
- 12+ years management experience in construction
- Proven ability to handle complex construction projects using strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Proven ability to manage difficult schedules and project demands while maintaining strict adherence to project safety program
- Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Strong leadership capability with internal drive to mentor and grow internal talent
- Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance requirements
- Advanced knowledge of construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs
- Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract specific plans and specifications
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
