Construction Manager – Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

Provide onsite construction management and electrical engineering oversight for VA facility infrastructure projects supporting the EHRM initiative. Monitor progress, schedules, quality, and deliverables while reviewing designs, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for compliance with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards. Coordinate with VA personnel, contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure projects meet safety and budget constraints. Conduct site inspections, document progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions. Support scheduling, reporting, cost tracking, and project meetings via Microsoft Teams. Assist with closeout and turnover documentation. Night work (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM EST) may occasionally be required. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years of experience, and a VA Tier 1 clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 6+ years of construction management, electrical engineering, or facilities engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting federal, healthcare, hospital, or VA construction projects.
  • Knowledge of: Electrical distribution systems, Telecommunications, Data and network infrastructure, Fiber optic systems.
  • Experience reviewing construction documents and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of: National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, OSHA regulations.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Tier 1 Investigation/Public Trust.
  • Must be available for night work (approximately 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM EST) to support construction activities.
  • Must be available for daytime position with schedule not exceeding approximately 40 hours per week.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure projects.
  • Previous VA Medical Center construction experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with: Revit, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, Submittal Exchange (or similar document management software).
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects.
