Job Summary
Construction Manager role on the Brooklyn VA Medical Center EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades project. Oversees onsite construction activities, monitors field progress, manages submittals and RFIs, tracks schedules and long-lead items, assists with inspections and commissioning, maintains project records, and ensures compliance with VA standards and contract requirements. Works with COR, supports submittal review processes, maintains QA records, monitors costs and scheduling, and supports commissioning and closeout activities. Requires full-time onsite presence at Brooklyn Campus with potential after-hours as project conditions require; OSHA and VA training/compliance, and VA access credentialing are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of construction work experience with completed projects demonstrating task order competency
- Working knowledge of construction practices, site operations, materials, installation methods, building sequencing, and active healthcare construction environments
- Ability to inspect materials, workmanship, and building system installations and identify deficiencies against approved construction documents
- Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural/engineering plans, specifications, shop drawings, working drawings, schedules, contracts, work letters, charters, surveys, and related project documents
- Ability to evaluate building systems and field conditions against scope, specifications, VA standards, and project requirements
- Ability to support quality assurance, safety, time, cost, change, and information management across assigned disciplines
- Ability to communicate clearly, prepare complete field documentation, and coordinate with VA, A/E, contractor, and stakeholder representatives
- Complete OSHA 30-hour safety training, VA Cyber Security Awareness, and VA Privacy Awareness training within required timeframes
