Job Summary
Monitor field activities, track construction progress, and document work conditions while ensuring current drawings are available daily for supervisors. Identify remediation activities for non-conforming work, evaluate claims and differing site conditions, and oversee safety by notifying contractors of unsafe practices. Review look-ahead schedules, manage oversight through project closeout, and ensure quality readiness including punch lists and warranty oversight. Verify design packages are Ready for Construction, approve submittals, obtain AHJ approvals, and coordinate workflows such as RFIs and DCNs. Lead the project team, resolve complex issues, and support program leadership with clear reporting and execution of field priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience
- 2 years of leadership
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- regular attendance at the Integrated Project Office (IPO) and the construction sites in Baltimore, MD
- Adherence to BPTR program policies
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position
- all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
- Experience with managing and coordinating all construction documentation and technical workflows, such as: Submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), Design Change Notices (DCNs), Field Change Notices (FCNs)
- Strong owner-side experience in tunnels, underground, or heavy civil infrastructure
- Experience in tunnel, underground, or heavy civil infrastructure
- Experience with tunneling and building structures, including shafts and open‐cut U‐structures
- Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, building systems/components and technology
- Rail industry experience
- Familiarity with Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency (as a user) with inspection tools, MS Office Suite, Document Control systems, and SharePoint
