Job Summary
Manage allocation of materials, financial, and human resources using technical skills in construction methodologies, estimating, and contract management to deliver quality projects safely, within budget, and on time. Ensure site safety by performing and providing feedback on Safe Work Observations to improve safety performance. Develop comprehensive mitigation plans by identifying, analyzing, and monitoring risks including reputational, environmental, safety, and indigenous relations. Contribute to stakeholder engagement by leading public consultation processes and responding to internal and third-party inquiries to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and First Nations. Act as a subject matter expert on committees and advise on complex technical issues. Support the Revelstoke portfolio, including ongoing projects such as 500KV transformer replacements and Revelstoke Unit 6 installation. Administer multimillion dollar contracts, negotiate changes, and evaluate claims while managing small teams of contracted Construction Officers. Work a 5-day on, 2-day off shift with occasional travel to Southern Interior West and BC Hydro Edmonds.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum fifteen (15) years of construction management experience or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of project management
- Excellent working knowledge of safety standards and regulations such as Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards and WorkSafe Regulations
- Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
- Extensive experience administering multimillion dollar contracts, negotiating contract changes and evaluating claims
- Must be able to travel to Southern Interior West & BC Hydro Edmonds location
- Must be able to work a 5 days on and 2 off shift (with potential transition to 4 day on, 3 day off)
- Must be able to manage small teams on contracted Construction Officers
