Job Summary
Construction Management Support/Field Engineer role supporting NAVFAC NW projects at NBK Bremerton, WA, with responsibilities including providing documentation to Government representatives on contract conformance, coordinating Government and contractor requests, analyzing RFIs and submittals for Government review, providing QA on the contractor’s quality control program, monitoring three phases of control checklists for accuracy, ensuring environmental protection compliance, conducting schedule reviews with notes and recommendations, and reporting non-conformances in quality control and safety. Requires 5+ years in field engineering/construction management or related DoD projects, knowledge of QA/QC concepts, ability to read and present to government personnel, experience with construction estimating and scheduling tools, BS degree preferred (or equivalent experience), and ability to obtain the required security clearances; must be able to pass background checks, hold a valid driver’s license, and be a U.S. citizen.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer, Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Controls Manager, or COTR Navy or other DoD Construction Projects is desired
- General construction management knowledge and experience is required at a minimum
- Knowledgeable in the three-phases of control and Construction Quality Management System
- Fluent English for reporting and presenting to government personnel
- Experience with construction estimating software such as CostWorks/RS Means, Success Estimator, Xactimate, Hard Dollar, Sage/Timberline, Bluebeam (desired)
- Knowledgeable in Primavera scheduling software and scheduling concepts (critical path method)
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering, architecture, building construction, construction science, construction management, or BA in a Business-related field (preferred)
- USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors Training and Certification within 60 days if not certified
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to pass background check and obtain security clearance
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
