Job Summary
Construction Management Representative to support the National Park Service on renovating the water distribution system at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (Ajo, AZ). On-site oversight to ensure contractor work complies with contract documents, quality standards, and safety requirements. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans, organizing and documenting meetings and minutes, conducting on-site inspections and mock-ups, tracking progress and schedules, addressing issues with the contractor, reviewing cost estimates and RFIs, and drafting official correspondence. Requires coordination with A/E teams and NPS staff, strong written/verbal communication, ability to interpret schedules, and proficiency with MS Office and project management tools. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a vehicle and perform field inspections across a sensitive site environment. Education/experience prerequisites emphasize a four-year technical degree and at least five years in construction management, preferably in civil/environmental site-sensitive projects; OSHA 30 and federally funded project experience are valued. Required Qualifications
- Minimum four (4) year Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management or related field (preferred).
- OSHA 30 construction safety training preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant construction/engineering experience in construction management.
- Experience with active construction environments, water distribution systems, installation of utility systems, underground utilities, pipeline installation, public water systems, site civil work.
- Experience on federally funded projects or within historic and environmentally sensitive sites preferred.
- Proficient in evaluating detailed cost estimates and contractor proposals; ability to document scope changes; experience negotiating with contractors.
- Ability to review payment requests against completed work and contractual milestones.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
