Job Summary
Oversees construction management for a National Park Service water treatment plant project in Glennallen, AK; responsibilities include on-site inspections, coordinating meetings, reviewing contractor schedules and cost estimates, drafting correspondence, ensuring conformance with contract documents and safety standards, and supporting WTP commissioning and training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant construction and/or engineering work experience in construction management
- Experience with cold-climate construction, including buildings, foundations, water treatment facilities, and water service connections
- Working knowledge of water treatment systems, including pumps, piping, processes, appurtenances, and treatment methods
- Experience with wells and water service connections from source through treatment facilities
- Background in vertical construction with emphasis on cold-climate durability
- Familiarity with National Park Service (NPS) construction workflows and standard CMR duties
- Strong communication and reporting skills; coordination with A/E teams and NPS COs
- Proficient in evaluating detailed cost estimates and contractor proposals
- Experience supporting or conducting technical negotiations with contractors
- Ability to interpret construction schedules and document progress
- Knowledge of MS Suite including MS Project and Adobe Acrobat
- Maintain a valid driver's license
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced large-scale projects
- Ability to walk or climb daily to observe contract performance
- Physical ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
