Job Summary
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements, safety regulations, and codes. Perform routine tests on concrete, soil, and other materials while measuring dimensions and verifying level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavement. Gathers and maintains record documents, makes field notes, and conducts computations. Work is performed in the field involving bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting objects up to 25 lbs in various weather conditions. Requires an active driver's license and current enrollment in an undergraduate Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.
Required Qualifications
- Current student in an undergraduate 4-year Civil Engineering or Construction Management program
- Active driver's license
- Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed
- Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification
