Job Summary
Field Surveyor role focused on field surveys and precise site measurements for construction and steel installation projects in the Mid-Atlantic. Responsibilities include establishing layout points, control lines, column locations, and anchor bolt positions; verifying elevations and alignment; assisting with steel installation and layout accuracy; preparing as-built documentation; collaborating with contractors and trades to maintain proper positioning of structural components; using Trimble equipment, Bluebeam, CAD, and Microsoft Office; and traveling to job sites while following safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in field surveying, construction layout, or structural steel erection
- Experience performing layout work involving grades, elevations, slopes, and structural steel components
- Proficiency using total stations or similar survey instruments
- Knowledge of structural alignment practices and industry standards
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites throughout the region
- Comfortable working in construction environments, including elevated work areas and aerial lifts
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
