Job Summary
Draft, negotiate, and close construction contracts, design agreements, and access/license agreements for institutional owner and developer clients while taking ownership of a high-volume transactional workbook with turnaround measured in days. Manage complex negotiations with adverse counsel on access agreements and handle RPAPL 881 special proceedings to compel neighboring property owners to grant access. Work closely with a 7-person construction practice group, including direct mentorship from a 50+ year practitioner, and participate in weekly Wednesday group meetings reviewing active matters. Contribute to the firm's marketing and business development efforts over time.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of transactional construction law experience
- experience with design agreements
- experience with construction contracts
- experience with access/license agreements
- experience on behalf of owners and developers
- ability to operate independently on complex matters with minimal supervision
- track record of managing files from intake through close with fast turnaround times
- comfortable operating independently on complex matters with minimal supervision

- Handle RPAPL 881 special proceedings — petitioning courts to compel neighboring property owners to grant access for construction or demolition projects
- Manage complex negotiations with adverse counsel on access agreements where neighbors attempt to extract excessive license fees and conditions from developers
Desired Qualifications
