Construction Inspectors - ODOT / roadway projects

Job Summary
Inspect roadway/bridge projects for state and local clients, performing construction administration, inspection, and testing services. Read project drawings and specifications, monitor quality standards, prepare and maintain project records/reports, and communicate status updates to the Project Engineer. Conduct field testing of materials such as concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel; may perform hazardous materials surveys and asbestos abatement monitoring. Requires knowledge of engineering and construction services, strong written/verbal communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision on broad projects in the northern Ohio region with frequent travel; ODOT project experience is a strong plus. Minimum qualifications include a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree (or technical equivalent) and 2+ years of related field experience; preferred certifications include ACI Grade I, NICET Level II Soils, ICC inspections, and/or CWI/NDT. Must possess a valid driver license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 2+ years of related experience
- Familiarity with highway construction specifications and field experience
- Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and inspection/testing
- Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET Level II Soils, ICC Special inspections and/or CWI/NDT inspectors
- Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record
