Job Summary
Review and update construction schedules, record drawings, and keep logs of contract documents while performing field tasks to ensure conformance with plans and specifications. Conduct engineering submittal reviews, observe material test reports, and read construction drawings to identify discrepancies. Process contractor pay estimates, respond to RFIs, and perform quantity calculations. Consult with the Resident Engineer on work progress, recommend solutions, and act as a liaison with the engineer of record. Maintain accuracy in contractor daily reports and adhere to safety policies and the Code of Conduct. Requires a valid Illinois driver's license, Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to work in the United States immediately.
Required Qualifications
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
- Valid Illinois Driver's license
- Effective problem-solving with the ability to efficiently switch between tasks productively
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
- Experience with Office Engineering duties on large construction projects
- Experience with Labor Compliance and verification of Certified Payrolls
- E.I.T. Preferred
- Experience with e-builder preferred
