Construction Inspector (Water / Wastewater)

Job Summary
Conduct thorough inspections of water and wastewater pipelines, including sewer lines and water mains, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards. Oversee and perform pressure testing of pipelines to verify integrity, while inspecting concrete structures and rebar for quality and structural compliance. Maintain detailed records of inspections and test results, preparing reports for project managers and contractors. Enforce safety protocols on construction sites to prevent accidents and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve quality control issues and evaluate change orders. Requires 5+ years of experience in construction inspection for water or wastewater projects, familiarity with projects exceeding $10M, and willingness to travel to project sites.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in construction inspection, particularly in water or wastewater projects for municipalities
- Proven experience in pressure testing of pipelines and concrete inspection
- Familiarity with Water and Wastewater Infrastructure and treatment projects in excess of $10M
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations
- Soil compaction and density testing experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred, but substantial experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
