Job Summary
Conduct daily site inspections for heavy highway, bridge, and road projects to ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Perform material testing, maintain daily logs of materials and progress, and monitor work zones for MPT and OSHA compliance. Prepare daily inspection reports, document workforce quantities, and assist Resident Engineers in processing submittals and approving monthly estimates. This role requires NICET II or above certification and familiarity with New Jersey DOT standards. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Heavy Highway construction
- NICET II and above
- ACI Field Grade I
- NJSAT (New Jersey Society of Asphalt Technologists)
- Rutgers TCC (Traffic Control Coordinator)
- Ability to read complex blueprints
- Strong written communication
- Familiarity with agency electronic record systems (Site Manager, CapEx)
- Familiarity with New Jersey Department of Transportation or New Jersey Turnpike Authority standards
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel to-from and on job site
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Efficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook
