Job Summary
Inspect heavy highway, bridge, and road projects to ensure contractors comply with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Conduct daily site inspections of paving, drainage, and structural elements while monitoring work zones for MPT compliance and OSHA standards. Prepare daily inspection reports, maintain logs of materials and project progress, and assist Resident Engineers in processing submittals and approving monthly estimates. This role requires 3+ years of heavy highway construction experience, NICET II or higher certifications, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Heavy Highway construction
- NICET II and above
- ACI Field Grade I
- NJSAT (New Jersey Society of Asphalt Technologists)
- Rutgers TCC (Traffic Control Coordinator)
- Ability to read complex blueprints
- Strong written communication
- Familiarity with agency electronic record systems (Site Manager, CapEx)
- Familiarity with New Jersey Department of Transportation or New Jersey Turnpike Authority standards
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel to-from and on job site
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Efficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook
