Job Summary
Conduct daily field inspections for civil and roadway projects across Oʻahu, confirming contractor work meets applicable codes, contract documents, and safety requirements. Measure materials, issue delivery receipts, and review construction drawings to ensure proper methods and procedures are followed. Document findings, prepare routine inspection reports, and promptly report discrepancies to the Project Manager. Seek approval for scope changes and perform duties both in the field and in-office. This role supports upcoming projects on Oʻahu, requiring extensive outdoor work, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- Roadway experience
- DOT Highways (DOT Hwy) or Honolulu City & County (C&C) experience
- Dependable
- Responsible
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to prepare clear written reports
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office, tablets, field-reporting tools)
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production for various construction project types
- Construction experience, including familiarity with construction activities, materials, and quality control processes
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
