Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, specifications, codes, and quality requirements for the marine construction project recapitalizing Pier Mike at USCG Base. Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents while monitoring contractor workmanship and progress across multiple trades. Identify deficiencies, quality issues, and non-compliant work, then document findings and track corrective actions through completion. Prepare clear reports summarizing activities and observations, taking digital photographs of progress and issues with appropriate descriptions. Communicate findings and recommendations to contractors, project managers, and stakeholders. Maintain accurate inspection records and project documentation throughout the process. This contingent role requires a minimum of 10 years of construction inspection experience or a degree combined with five years of experience, contingent upon contract award.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager
- Minimum of 5 years of experience combined with a four-year college degree in Engineering
- PE, PMP, or QA/QC certifications obtained within the last 10 years
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Understanding of applicable local and national building codes
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of multiple construction trades, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, architectural, and civil
- Knowledge of construction trades demonstrated through previous installation, repair, or inspection experience
- Basic computer and software skills, including the ability to prepare reports using Microsoft Word, PDF, and similar software
