Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, specifications, codes, and quality requirements for the marine construction project recapitalizing Pier Mike at USCG Base. Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and other technical documents while monitoring contractor workmanship and progress across multiple trades. Identify deficiencies, quality issues, and non-compliant work, then document findings, track corrective actions, and prepare accurate reports summarizing observations and conditions. Take and organize digital photographs of progress and findings with appropriate descriptions, communicating concerns professionally to stakeholders. Maintain accurate records and utilize construction management software to complete reporting requirements. This contingent role offers four years of service supporting US Department of Defense missions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager
- Minimum of 5 years of experience combined with a four-year college degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience combined with a PE certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience combined with a PMP certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience combined with QA/QC certifications obtained within the last 10 years
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Ability to understand applicable local and national building codes
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of multiple construction trades, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, architectural, and civil
- Knowledge of construction trades demonstrated through previous installation, repair, or inspection experience
- Basic computer and software skills, including the ability to prepare reports using Microsoft Word, PDF, and similar software
