Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of construction activities at the marine project to verify compliance with contract documents, specifications, and codes. Review and interpret technical drawings, monitor workmanship across multiple trades, and identify deficiencies or non-compliant work. Document findings, track corrective actions, and prepare accurate reports summarizing observations and conditions. Take digital photographs of progress and inspection issues with descriptions, then communicate concerns and recommendations to contractors and stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of documentation and reports throughout the process using Microsoft Word, PDF tools, and construction management software. This contingent role requires a minimum of 10 years of construction inspection experience or a relevant degree with certifications, with a four-year contract duration upon award.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager
- Minimum of 5 years of experience combined with a four-year college degree in Engineering
- PE, PMP, or QA/QC certifications obtained within the last 10 years
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Understanding of applicable local and national building codes
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of multiple construction trades, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, architectural, and civil
- Knowledge of construction trades demonstrated through previous installation, repair, or inspection experience
- Basic computer and software skills, including the ability to prepare reports using Microsoft Word, PDF, and similar software
