Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of marine construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, specifications, codes, and quality requirements. Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications while monitoring contractor workmanship across multiple trades. Identify deficiencies, quality issues, and non-compliant work, then document findings, track corrective actions, and prepare accurate reports summarizing project conditions. Take and organize digital photographs of progress and inspection findings with appropriate descriptions. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to contractors, project managers, and stakeholders. Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation throughout the four-year contract duration, contingent upon contract award. Utilize Microsoft Word, PDF tools, and construction management software to fulfill reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager
- Minimum of 5 years of experience combined with a four-year college degree in Engineering
- PE, PMP, or QA/QC certifications obtained within the last 10 years
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Understanding of applicable local and national building codes
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of multiple construction trades, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, architectural, and civil
- Knowledge of construction trades demonstrated through previous installation, repair, or inspection experience
- Basic computer and software skills, including the ability to prepare reports using Microsoft Word, PDF, and similar software
