Job Summary
Observe and inspect municipal infrastructure construction activities (water distribution, sanitary sewer, stormwater, roadways) and monitor contractor work for compliance with plans, permits, and codes; prepare detailed daily reports, track quantities, organize photographic documentation, and serve as liaison among contractors, clients, municipal agencies, and the design team; attend meetings, verify materials and workmanship meet quality standards, review shop drawings and RFIs, monitor schedules, and assist with closeout activities including punch lists and final inspections; role requires strong communication and documentation skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to travel to project sites.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in construction observation or inspection, preferably on utility and municipal infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field documentation tools
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
