Job Summary
Construction Inspector role based in AtkinsRéalis' Vancouver office, supporting projects across British Columbia and Canada. Monitor and ensure contractor work conforms to contract requirements, perform inspections and quality assurance, document activities (daily diaries, pay item reports, memos), interpret contract provisions for substantial compliance with plans and specs, plan and prioritize tasks, advise project management of delays or failures, maintain quality standards, prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports, supervise works, and collaborate with client representatives and cross-functional teams. Requires post-secondary education in Engineering/Construction or related field and 5–10 years of proven inspection experience on large-scale projects; strong analytical, planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills; proficient in Microsoft Office; able to work as part of a team; hybrid working culture noted in organization description.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction or related field or a combination of equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum 5 – 10 years of proven inspection experience directly related to major large-scale construction projects
- Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
- Exposure to working on multi-disciplinary construction sites
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and advise project manager/owner of any failures or delays
- Ability to prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports and maintain quality standards in all work produced
- Ability to supervise construction works and support project activities as needed
