Construction Inspector I, DPW

Job Summary
Provides professional technical and administrative work in the Engineering Section, inspecting construction projects and ensuring compliance with contract drawings, specifications, local and state regulations, and rulings of local commissions and boards. Construction projects could be for any aspect of DPW functions, including horizontal (water, sewer, roads, recreational areas, etc.), vertical (buildings and structures), marine infrastructure, and solid waste management. Oversees the issuance of sewer and road opening permits, and all other related work as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree with courses in engineering, mathematics, surveying, materials and design; or more than three years experience in municipal level construction inspection and/or surveying; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
- Class D drivers license required.
