Job Summary
Construction Inspector stationed in Columbus, OH overseeing inspection services for sanitary pump stations and sewer system installations. Responsibilities include inspecting water and sewer lines, water treatment and pumping/storage facilities, paving and road restoration; maintaining daily reports, calculations, and as-built drawings; generating punch lists, pay applications, change orders, and cost summaries; reviewing shop drawings and render design drawings; coordinating job meetings and project closeout; communicating with City Directors, clients, residents and tenants; and performing materials testing, data recording, and report generation. Requires high school diploma or GED, 5 years of relevant inspection experience, knowledge of underground utility and highway construction, basic mathematics, and a valid driver’s license; travel to project sites and ability to work in varied conditions are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED certification
- 5 years’ experience in underground utility, utility pump station, roadway, and related construction inspection duties
- Knowledge of Underground utility construction and specifications, Highway construction plans
- Materials testing procedures and Basic Mathematics
- Shall possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements
- Travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain
- Read and understand plans, specifications, instructions, labels, reports, etc.
