Job Summary

Conduct on-site inspections and surveillance of complex facility projects to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and contract requirements. Monitor construction activities, schedules, sequencing, materials, and workmanship while interpreting engineering and architectural plans in the field. Review contractor submittals, progress schedules, and payment requests to provide recommendations for Government approval or disapproval. Document non-compliant items, obtain material samples, and prepare detailed daily and weekly inspection reports. Identify and immediately report safety violations, track corrective actions, and verify completion prior to project acceptance. Coordinate with Government personnel, engineers, architects, and contractors throughout project execution at Schriever Space Force Base. Maintain auditable project records including inspection logs, safety observations, and non-conformance documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI)
  • Degree in Construction Management or Construction Technology
  • Minimum of three (3) years of construction and/or contract-related experience
  • Knowledge of construction inspection practices and procedures for building materials, workmanship, utilities, and system installations
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects of major construction projects
  • Proficiency in construction industry inspection and safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Working knowledge of construction trades and methods
  • Working knowledge of applied mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Ability to identify, document, and communicate construction deficiencies and non-compliant work
  • Ability to maintain detailed inspection records and prepare clear written reports
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Government personnel, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required installation and restricted-area access
  • Ability to conduct frequent inspections within active construction environments
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain and active construction areas for extended periods
  • Ability to access facilities and project locations throughout Schriever Space Base
