Job Summary
Construction Inspector for transportation projects overseeing road/highway/bridge construction to assure quality and safety. Responsibilities include reviewing, inspecting, testing, and measuring contractor work to ensure compliance with contract requirements; recommending approvals or rejections; maintaining daily site activity records and progress reports; preparing documentation for contract changes; communicating project-related details to the project engineer; calculating quantities and costs of materials; adhering to RockSol’s QMS; maintaining equipment; and performing other inspection assignments as needed. Requires arranging travel to multiple job sites, strong communication, software familiarity (Microsoft Project, Primavera), and a minimum of 3 years of relevant inspection experience. Pay scales vary by level (Inspector I–IV) from $25-$50 per hour. Work locations include Denver, CO, US with in-person field responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Must possess a demonstrated ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and maintain attention to accuracy and detail
- Must possess competent verbal and written communication skills
- Obtain and maintain required certifications for position
- Must meet internal requirements for operation of company vehicles throughout duration of employment and must maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Must be willing and able to travel to job sites, sometimes for extended periods. Job sites may be located throughout Colorado or in western U.S.
- Working knowledge of safety and labor laws and requirements, quality control and quality assurance principles
