Job Summary
Construction Inspector for the US Coast Guard CDC project at Base Elizabeth City. Responsibilities include reading contract drawings and specifications, applying knowledge of local and national building codes, and inspecting building trades (structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, architectural, civil) and utilities to ensure quality of workmanship. Must demonstrate experience on federal projects, document findings with reports and photos, and communicate with contractors and project managers. Requires strong written/verbal communication, proficiency with word processing and construction-management software, and ability to perform site inspections physically (up to 50 pounds, on active construction sites). Education/credentials: a minimum 10 years of related experience or 5 years with a 4-year engineering-related degree (Engineering, PE, PMP, QA/QC certifications) within the last 10 years. Period of performance October 15, 2026–September 30, 2028, with potential extension; project involves construction of a new CDC facility and associated site work on Federal property. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience as a construction inspector, contractor superintendent, or quality control manager. Alternatively, minimum 5 years' experience with a 4-year college degree in Engineering, PE, PMP, or QA/QC certifications attained within the last 10 years.
