Job Summary
Construction Inspector for U.S. Coast Guard runway recapitalization project. Oversees inspection and QA/QC of demolition/restoration of runway 1-19 pavement, taxiways, and turnaround areas, plus design and installation of upgraded LED edge lighting, guidance signs, and lighting system components. Project duration approximately 21 months with extension possibilities based on design-build schedules. Requires at least 10 years of construction inspection experience (or 5+ years with a relevant 4-year degree and certifications), ability to read drawings, understanding of building codes, and experience with airfield-related trades. Must be able to draft reports in Word and provide digital images with descriptions; bilingual in English and Spanish. Prior Federal government project experience is required. Knowledge of electrical, civil, and other construction trades, plus QA/QC certifications preferred. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience as a construction inspector, contractor superintendent, or quality control manager; a minimum 2 years federal government project experience within the last 10 years
- A 4-year college degree in Engineering, PE licensure, PMP certification, or QA/QC certification (or combination)
- Ability to read contract drawings and specifications; knowledge of local and national building codes
- Experience with airfield pavement recapitalization or restoration and airfield electrical components and guidance signage
- Basic computer skills; reports drafted in Word, PDFs; digital images with descriptions
- Fluent English and Spanish
- Experience with Construction Management Software
- Strong written and verbal communication; attention to detail
- Independent, self-disciplined work style; ability to communicate with contractors and project managers
- Experience on Federal Government projects; provide evidence of past projects similar in scope
