Job Summary
Oversee quality control for natural gas distribution installations by inspecting crews, vendors, and materials for compliance with conformance requirements. Perform heat fusion and mechanical method inspections on plastic pipes and fittings, while logging fusions and manually mapping assets for as-built drawings. Maintain a safe work site using Stop Work Authority and establish professional relationships with third-party contractors. Complete classroom and hands-on training for the Northeast Gas Association and additional contractor specifications. Must live locally in the greater Buffalo, NY area. Starting pay is $36 and up based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must live locally in the greater Buffalo, NY, or surrounding Counties' territory
- Valid driver's license in the applicable state of employment
- Must be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work schedule
- 5 years combined experience in utility inspections, pressure testing, plastic pipe fusions, coating inspections, pipeline monitoring, natural gas distribution crew lead/foreman, and municipality distribution crew lead/foreman
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of natural gas construction inspection experience is preferred, not required
