Job Summary
The Construction Inspector will ensure asphalt or concrete road construction meets quality standards by checking materials, procedures, and final product compliance with project plans and specifications. Responsibilities include monitoring temperature, density, and thickness, documenting adherence to safety and longevity standards, examining construction progress, utilizing survey instruments, and maintaining project documentation. The role requires knowledge of safety regulations and construction quality assurance services. Essential qualifications include 3+ years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and required certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High-School diploma or equivalent is required
- Asphalt Field Level I & II
- Pavement Marking
- Surface Treatment
- Slurry Surfacing
- Flagger Certification
- Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control – VDOT Approved Provider
- 10-hour OSHA Safety Training
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of highway and bridge construction experience.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Bachelors’ degree in Construction Management or Engineering or related field (preferred)
