Job Summary
Construction Inspector monitors the inspection, testing, and evaluation of roadways, bridges, buildings, and utility systems to maintain safety and operational effectiveness; prepares daily/monthly reports, compares progress with schedules, and ensures compliance with Bernalillo County and NMDOT standards. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and four years of related construction/testing experience; must hold a NM driver’s license and obtain nuclear densometer and concrete field-testing certifications within nine months. Supplemental duties include monitoring moisture/density testing of soils and HMA, documenting contractor work, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four (4) years of work experience in general construction, testing of roadways, earthworks, underground utilities, culverts, bridges and other public works facilities or related field
- Possession of a valid New Mexico driver’s license by date of hire
- Completion of FEMA training(s)
- Must attain Approved Nuclear densometer certification within nine (9) months of employment
- Must attain approved concrete field-testing certification within nine (9) months of employment
- Employee must maintain all required certifications
