Job Summary
The Construction GPS Field Technician installs and troubleshoots machine guidance systems on earthmoving and paving equipment while performing complex repairs and serving as an escalation point for technical issues. Key responsibilities include conducting system demonstrations, consulting on construction processes, and liaising with Trimble. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years operational experience with Machine Control Systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and manage customer interactions. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating, installing and troubleshooting Machine Control Systems
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with OEM Heavy equipment manufacturers
- Experience using Total Station Robotics for grading and/or paving applications
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional interaction with customers and personnel at all levels
- Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed and well organized with the ability to prioritize workload
- Excellent driving record
- Proficient use of technical software, databases, and manuals
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of three years relevant field experience is required to be eligible for the $5,000 sign-on bonus
- Candidates with less than 3 years’ relevant field experience are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus
- Physical requirements must be met for the Construction GPS Field Technician, including regularly being required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
