Job Summary
Perform contract item inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications on highway and bridge construction projects, including earthwork operations, base and roadbed material placement, asphalt and batch plant controls, culvert construction, pile-driving, structural steel placement, and false work erection. Monitor materials at batch plants and verify structural steel erection and false work forms. Apply knowledge of Standard Plans and Specifications, industry construction practices, and state safety orders to manage field office engineering techniques. Communicate effectively with internal and external clients regarding traffic control and project progress. This role begins in October 2026 for a long-duration project in Lake Havasu City.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of contract documents to include but not limited to the Standard Plans and Specifications
- Varying types and methods of industry construction practices
- State safety orders
- Traffic control
- Field office engineering techniques
- Effective communication, both written and verbal
- Negotiation skills with respect to internal and external clients
- Work in Lake Havasu City
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of construction inspection experience
