Job Summary
Conduct contract item inspections for highway and bridge construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications across earthwork operations, base and roadbed material placement, asphalt and batch plant controls, culvert construction, pile-driving, structural steel placement, and false work erection. Verify materials at batch plants and monitor structural steel erection and form work. Apply knowledge of Standard Plans and Specifications, industry construction practices, and state safety orders while managing traffic control and communicating effectively with internal and external clients. This long-term project in Lake Havasu City begins in October 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of contract documents to include but not limited to the Standard Plans and Specifications
- Varying types and methods of industry construction practices
- State safety orders
- Traffic control
- Field office engineering techniques
- Effective communication, both written and verbal
- Negotiation skills with respect to internal and external clients
- A minimum of five years of construction inspection experience
