Job Summary
Construction Estimator responsible for plan takeoffs, setting estimated costs, and preparing project bids and budgets. Will coordinate with trade departments to produce cost estimates and proposals, review contract language and scope of work, and assist in budgeting, profitability assessment, and communication with clients during bidding. Requires experience in construction estimation, strong math and analytical abilities, and proficiency with Office software and takeoff tools; preferred experience with Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and QuickBid; local to the Salt Lake City area; role involves site visits and project meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Requirements
- At least 2 years of Construction Estimation work experience.
- Minimum Requirements
- Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction.
- Ability to analyze and process key information, recognize critical areas on the job that could impact profitability, and then actively navigate the project away from risks and liabilities for a successful outcome.
- Understand field productivity, as well as material and equipment costs.
- A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
- Strong math skills are required.
- Ability to work in team environment is required.
- Strong customer service skills are required.
- Ability to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve is required.
- Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught is required.
- Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments.
