Job Summary
Establish customer relationships and educate clients on construction processes for fire and water damage projects. Analyze labor, material, and time requirements to create accurate sketches and initial scopes of work. Identify project constraints, coordinate with external resources like structural engineers, and assemble organized estimates. Deliver finalized estimates to the Project Manager while managing negotiations and conflict resolution. Requires 2 years of construction estimating or insurance adjusting experience, proficiency in Xactimate software, and a good driving record. Full-time role with 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours, Monday–Friday, including on-call rotation, weekend work, and local travel.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of previous construction estimating and/or insurance adjusting experience
- Strong background in negotiation and conflict management
- Superb customer service track record
- Have clear and professional communication-both written and verbal
- Proficient use of XactimateTM estimating software
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a good driving record
- Must be comfortable working hard in challenging situations
- Must enjoy meeting new people
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be highly dependable
- Must be able to routinely exceed expectations
- Must be available for on-call
- Must be available for weekend work
- Must be willing to travel (primarily local, some out-of-area and overnight)
Desired Qualifications
- Insurance claims experience is a plus
- BA in engineering, construction science, or a similar relevant field preferred
