Job Summary
Establish customer relationships and educate clients on the construction process while collaborating to understand desired upgrades. Analyze labor, material, and time requirements to create accurate sketches and initial scopes of work, then assemble and deliver organized estimates to the Project Manager. Work with external resources such as structural engineers and inspectors to finalize project scope and price bid items as needed. This full-time role requires 45 hours per week from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with frequent on-call, weekend work, and local travel.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of previous construction estimating and/or insurance adjusting experience
- Strong background in negotiation and conflict management
- Superb customer service track record
- Have clear and professional communication-both written and verbal
- Proficient use of XactimateTM estimating software
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a good driving record
- Must be comfortable working hard in challenging situations
- Must enjoy meeting new people
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be highly dependable
- Must be able to routinely exceed expectations
- Must be available for on-call
- Must be available for weekend work
- Must be able to travel (primarily local, with some out-of-area and overnight travel expected)
- Must be able to walk and/or stand throughout the day
- Must be able to drive frequently
- Must be able to sit frequently
- Must be able to occasionally climb ladders
- Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat
- Must be able to work in a loud work environment and job sites
- Must be able to work normal working hours
- Must be able to work additional working hours
- Must be able to work 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week
- Must be able to work full-time
Desired Qualifications
- BA in engineering, construction science, or a similar relevant field preferred
- Insurance claims experience is a plus
