Job Summary
Assist lead estimator with detailed material takeoffs from plans and specs, solicit and track subcontractor and supplier pricing, and maintain bid files, vendor quotes, and cost documentation. Perform field measurements and site visits to verify scope, enter and maintain cost data in Excel and Google Sheets, and support preparation of proposals and bid packages. Attend preconstruction meetings to document notes and follow-ups, assist with change order pricing and budget tracking, and support project handoffs from preconstruction to the field team. This role requires 1-3 years in construction estimating, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets, and the ability to read architectural plans. Located in Kennebunk, ME, the position is full-time, Monday-Friday, primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years in construction estimating, takeoffs, or project coordination
- Working knowledge of residential construction methods and sequencing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Sheets
- Strong attention to detail -- manage multiple bids at once
- Ability to read architectural plans and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Valid driver's license + reliable transportation for site visits
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Hover, Bluebeam, or similar estimating/CRM software
- Background in framing, finish carpentry, or general contracting
- Familiarity with Maine building codes and permitting
- Associate's or Bachelor's in Construction Management
