Job Summary
Prepare consistently accurate and detailed quantity surveys by reviewing project plans, specifications, and supporting documentation to develop complete cost estimate packages for projects up to $5M. Identify, research, and obtain relevant information for items being quantified or solicited from subcontractors while attending preconstruction meetings to gain project exposure. Maintain awareness of the local subcontractor community and clearly discuss project scope during solicitation processes. Conduct visual inspections of construction quality and materials, perform jobsite walks to ensure project completion, and identify safety hazards. This role supports preconstruction efforts across one or more disciplines within an open, supportive team known for its commitment to safety, sustainability, and community partnerships.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (e.g., Timberline), and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera)
- Strong attention to detail and resourcefulness in acquiring project-specific information
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Effective at managing multiple tasks with differing deadlines
- Flexible to work hours as required by project or proposal deadlines
- Capable of traversing construction-type terrain, climbing ladders and temporary stairways
- Conduct visual inspections of construction quality and materials
- Perform jobsite walks to ensure project completion and identify/eliminate safety hazards
