Job Summary
Analyze project documents to determine estimated costs and prepare material quantity takeoffs for Preconstruction Services Managers to execute competitive bids. Collaborate with Preconstruction Services, Project Management teams, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, on time, and within budget. Drive takeoff efficiency using 3D technology and advanced Excel skills while managing fast-paced bid schedules with attention to detail. Requires a degree in Engineering or Technology, five years of related estimating experience, and construction expertise, including building façade experience. Hourly rate ranges from $48.00 to $57.70.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-year degree in Engineering, Technology or similar field
- Minimum of 5 years of related estimating experience
- Construction experience
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Technical expertise
- Advanced knowledge in reading blueprints
- Understanding of specification documents
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling and estimating software such as Bluebeam
- Skilled in using scales and scientific calculators
- Mechanical aptitude for understanding construction methods
- Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Collect all relevant information and data needed to address problems and provide solutions
- Monitor and check work or information and organize time and resources efficiently
- Demonstrate efficiency and quality in work
- Consistently meet or exceed deadlines and follow through on commitments
- Respond appropriately to both written and oral directives
- Successfully complete most tasks independently but ask for additional support, as appropriate, when faced with unfamiliar tasks or situations
