Job Summary
Construction Estimator needed for a preconstruction team in Miami, FL to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial developments and luxury custom homes. Responsibilities include performing quantity takeoffs across all trades, analyzing drawings and specifications, soliciting and evaluating bids from subcontractors and vendors, identifying cost risks and value engineering opportunities, collaborating with project managers, architects, and clients, and managing estimates from concept through final bid/GMP. Maintain pricing databases and cost tracking tools and support handoff and procurement through project handoff.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of estimating experience in construction
- Experience with general contractors (required)
- Experience in commercial AND/OR luxury residential projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and systems
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Experience with estimating software (Bluebeam, Procore, OST, PlanSwift, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
