Job Summary
Concrete Estimator role focused on cost analysis and budgeting for complex commercial concrete projects in the Kansas City metro area. Responsibilities include reviewing project documents, performing quantity takeoffs and cost estimations for concrete materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services; soliciting and reviewing subcontractor bids; analyzing risks and opportunities to optimize costs and profitability; collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients; preparing detailed cost estimates and bid packages; participating in pre-bid site visits; monitoring material and labor trends to adjust estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role in concrete construction
- In-depth knowledge of concrete construction techniques, materials, equipment, and industry best practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, RSMeans, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical documents and perform accurate quantity takeoffs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors and clients
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating and proposal development
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
